Just looking at this photo of the Mens' Chorus from the Otterbein Retirement Community inLebanon reminds me that off camera somewhere Howard Longmire had his baton raised !
The Men's and Women's Chorus' were projects dear to his heart and he was a talented musician
and choral director. Did I mention he was also a nice person? Howard passed away on Aug 4. and although
he was only with us for CWCC of 2009 he will be missed by all. Howard embodied what
community music is for all of us in our CWCC programs- a lifelong commitment to music.
Howard may have retired from a "job" but he did not retire from music- ever. He was an inspiration
to all and a beloved director to the singers in the Otterbein community. Howard made Warren County
a better place to live and he will be missed.
